buh
April 27, 2007, 5:34 pmPeople ask, “How are things going on the game?” The short answer is good. The long answer is good, but I’m tired. From now on, just to keep things interesting, I think I will say good, and then show them the following;

Well I’ll be darned.
April 26, 2007, 3:29 pmI got this email today;
I just saw that you updated the Ghostbusters RPG article. That article has a very special place in my heart, because it was my introduction to role-playing games. I was eleven years old, and I’d never even heard of RPGs. I read the article once, understood it completely the first time through, and was playing my first game later that day. The very next day, I made my first house rule.
I’ve since bought the whole game line, and I’ve tried giving the original boxed set to newbies to learn with. And you know what? I’ve found that your four page article is an even better introduction than the original game itself! I still keep a printed copy handy, so I’ll have it on hand to give to any lost souls I may encounter.
So, anyway, I just wanted to say ‘real good job’, and thank you for a decade of happy gaming. I just thank god it wasn’t AD&D.
I feel about ten feet tall right now. How wonderfully random.

Crackdown is very tall.
April 25, 2007, 3:10 pmWe’ve been enjoying Crackdown on the Xbox 360 - there is an achievement you can earn by climbing to the top of the tallest building in the game - The Agency Keep. This is an example of the view.

It’s very, very tall. And the cityscapes are amazing.

Sometimes an anomaly is just an anomaly
April 22, 2007, 12:24 amSo, someone, somehow, discovers an “anomaly”, if one can call reflected light an anomaly - seems pretty normal to me. It’s only unique property is that it involves a camera in space. But, some people abhor a mystery and must speculate on what it is - because “reflected light” isn’t enough, they must know “why?” And if you’re Art Bell, then you post it, so everyone can hmm and haw - like we cured cancer and solved the riddle of lasting world peace, and now it’s time to solve the mystery of glass + light = reflection. We just have that much spare time, lying around.
And yet, nobody says a peep about the Wonder Bread Brandâ„¢ Anomaly 1500 feet East. Chew on that one armchair theorists! Your first instinct will be that it’s a flaw in the color receptors of the camera or the software, but don’t you believe it. Think “anomaly.”

I’m dubious, but I like the art.
April 17, 2007, 10:45 pmStumbled upon these recently - the were comic ads from roughly a generation before I started reading comics, so they instantly appealed to me as both familiar and new. As fantastic as the art is however, the names are a little underpowered. I live with the master of merging and morphing animal names, so slapping two names together seems quaint.
